I don't understand, what do I do? I have my camera on the tri-pod and I set the shutter speed low, and the aperture is max at f12. do I just leave it like that and do the light stuff in front of it now? or do I need to half click the "take picture" button? or do I click the "take picture" button?
If you want to get your scene in focus perfectly, half-click the shutter button, and while you are looking through the viewfinder, make sure the sparkler is in one of the focus point boxes. Your camera should autofocus on the sparkler, then you can turn auto-focus off and push the shutter button down all the way to begin the exposure.

However, some places ban sparklers, think you can(or someone else provide some sparkler pics)
